Oldie but a goodie

Hi lovelies

Just a quick outfit post from last Friday!
Love this dress from primark last year- cute length and really summery. I wore it with tan accessories and a denim jacket, also from primark to keep me warm in the evening when I went to see Men in Black 3, which on a side note is a must see! Also if you live in south London or find yourself in the area I grew up in, then check out the Picture House cinema just off Clapham High St. It's independently run, and has a bar.... Drinking wine in the cinema is very grown up :-)

Anyway back to the outfit, I hope you like it. Watch out for some more outfit posts this week and a post about how to make your own rainbow denim shorts as seen on my instagram (I'm "lizabelly" if you want to follow me

Primark print

I had a revelation this month.  We all know the primark on Oxford street is probably the worst shopping environment ever. Almost entirely filled with insane tourists going crazy for knickers that cost £2 and buying suitcases full... Pretty sure Primark started doing luggage so the tourists could buy directly into suitcases.  It is so busy and insane that I can have a panic attack in there on a Tuesday lunchtime, let alone a Saturday. I can't even imagine it.  Anyway, this Primark opens at 8.30am which meant I could nip in before work. OH MY. It's empty, peaceful and incredibly tidy. Literally amazing, there's not even a queue. I had two cashiers to myself. That is balling, primark style.  Anyway, I bought this skirt. I think it was about 8 tiny pounds, and worth every one. I love it, it's a comfy pencil skirt that I can walk in without having to do the pencil hobble run.  It also has a gorgeous laser cut print design which is bang on trend this summer and going into winter too. I love the tropical feel and the versatility. It's white base means its brilliant for summer, but teamed with black it can transfer into the winter months. I can also wear this during the day, or on a night out as I am loving the crop top pencil skirt look at the moment!  Do you like this? How would u wear it? The pics below are from Monday when I wore this to work.

My absolute favourite mascara, ever

Hey lovelies,

Today I just wanted to share with you one of my favourite favourite products, that I stumbled upon and now couldn't live without.

Eyelashes are so vital to any make up look I do. Without pretty fluttery eyelashes I don't feel complete. I know some people get their lashes tinted which I have done before but for some reason I still feel it never compares to mascara... Which leads me on to my fave:
L'oreal Volume Million Lashes

I have long lashes naturally (please don't hate me) but this really emphasises them, lengthens then and separate them!

I love this! It lasts all day and doesn't smudge.

Love love love! What's your favourite mascara?

Let's be healthy : what do I eat?!

So... I guess I should start by giving some context here because food is a funny thing and everyone has different attitudes to it....
(be warned I feel rambles a brewing)

I eat anything, apart from celery which to be honest I consider to be food directly spawned from Satan. It doesn't matter what cuisine il try it I don't mind. When I was little if I didn't eat what my mum served up, I didn't get any food so I just ate it. I also don't have any food intolerances which is always good. There was a period during my teenage years where I was a vegetarian having gone completely off meat, but I gave it up because I wasn't eating enough protein to prevent frequent fainting (always awkward).

So essentially I'm not particularly fussy, nor am I particularly food obsessed, I don't really think about it unless I'm hungry. Oh, and I have a fast metabolism which means I get hungry about six times a day. So I eat about six times a day. Bet you weren't expecting that one lol.

I don't diet, this isn't negotiable, if I don't eat regularly I get irritable, my blood sugar drops and I get the shakes and sweats, sometimes I even cry. One time I got home very hungry after work and my dad watched me cry as I scrambled myself some eggs.

So yes: I don't diet, I dont try to cut down on meals. This doesn't work for a lean body. It just makes you moody. So what do I do, I eat stuff I like, which is healthy food, I love vegetables, fish, chicken, potatoes(omg I love you potatoes), sushi... Also I cook from scratch, I don eat microwave meals, I can cook properly, and this makes a big difference on what you're actually putting into that body of yours.

I also go out and eat whenever I want to / bank balance allows it. There's nothing wrong with this, food is about spending time with people you love, it's not a guilty activity, just choose healthy choices. Eg: at nandos I eat half chicken with peas and halloumi cheese, no chips= healthy and happy nandos feast.

Standard food day in my life:
Breakfast: porridge
Snack: banana
Lunch: soup/salad/tuna melt when I'm treating myself/ last nights dinner/ salad
Snack: more fruit, cup of tea
Dinner: something homemade, spag Bol, pasta, chicken and veg, fish and veg. Literally anything - last night I went for a curry for example! I don't really eat dessert....

So what are my overriding tips for healthy eating:

1. Don't over eat, unless it's a Sunday Toby carvery and then it is your human right to pile it up, otherwise just eat sensible amounts.
2. Make smart choices, and try to learn to love the healthy options.
3. Treat yourself, as a treat, I'm pretty sure no one deserves pudding everyday, apart from grandparents... Obvs
4. Try not to stress about food, it's only food. It's better to have a happy attitude towards it, and enjoy it. It is yummy after all

Nails : Pretty Peachy Pastels

Enter the silliest pictures ever for a nail picture, but at least they are a little different yeah? Everyone say hi to my Oyster card, that bad boy is worth a lot of money! Anyway onto the important info, I ABSOLUTELY LOVE this colour, it is so pretty and summery and looks amazing with a tan, and to top it all off it is a Barry M colour which means super inexpensive! It is called Peach Melba and is exactly that, a gorgeous fruity pastel peach!

Do you have any Barry M favourites?

H&M Haul

Hey lovelies,
I got these bits a little while ago but thought I would share.

Along with Zara, H&M is pulling out all the stops this season. The prints are absolutely beautiful and it is all very affordable. The bunch of bits above came to around thirty quid. BARGAINOUS.

I have wanted to invest in a body for ages because sometimes I want that sleek silhouette and I hate when you tuck on a top and it rides up (sign of Liz getting old!). I also picked up the cutest shorts ever, I absolutely love the pattern and they are silky and gorgeous. Absolute love. Can't wait to wear these in Ibiza this summer!

I also picked up two cute inexpensive pairs of shoesies! The red sling backs are so comfy and versatile, great for the office and the weekend. The sandals my best mate described as "Jesus creepers", obviously Jesus was extremely stylish! Again, there are extremely comfortable. Sometimes I find the straps on these kinds of sandals rubs but these are lovely... Love love love!

What have you picked up from H&M? Xxxx

My Sara's Secret Bracelet

My new favourite piece of jewellery is from a lovely friends jewellery range called Sara's Secret
This is called the Neon Candy Forgotton Skulls bracelet. It is beautifully made by Claire, and that makes it al the more special to me. I think that there are so many mass produced things in the shopping environment that being able to pick up a special piece of jewellery like the ones that Claire makes is a realy nice addition to any wardrobe.

If you want to see any more of Claire's jewellery then check out the facebok page as linked above!

P.S. Claire has not asked me to do this post, and I paid for the bracelet myself. Just in case any of you were wondering x
